This is freaking me out!

Yesterday, I made the big appointment to take place on Oct 13th. To see about having no more babies, a sterilization. And they want to put these nickle coils/springs in my tubes. This is the Essure method that most OBGYN's recommend now instead of Tubal Ligation (Tubal can be reversable, Essure procedure can't be). Ok, no big deal..... til I see the picture. Okay, I was picturing something the size of a tack. Oh and the skin grows thru the coils blocking up the tubes. I'm freaking out and think Child Husband needs to go get neutered. He cringes at the thought of it and says he can't do it. But I'm wondering if Bob Barker can talk him into it ;)

What the heck is that? I have a Mirena IUD. It has its pros and cons, but I don't want a baby either!! And my husband is too much of a you-know-what to get himself taken care of too!

um.... OW....

Husband definitely needs to man up for this one - after all, you squeezed three babies out he can suffer for one day for a change!!!

WTH! I've never even heard of this! Wierd!

ACK!!!! Mr. WHimpy Baby Husband needs to get his nads into the doctor and man up. Get him some frozen peas, tell him you'll treat him like a king for the day and make him do it.

I added some more details to my post so you can understand it a little better.

I stand firm in this belief:

we are the ones that go through 9 months (with each) of weight gain, sickness, non-drinking time all to look like the Michelin Man when the thing pops out. Don't get me started on the hours of labor.

Anyway, I am an advocate for the neutering. It is an out.patient.surgery. A bag of frozen peas, TV and remote and it's all good. Small price for them to pay after what we go through.

I totally made Sweetie shut down the factory as soon as number three shot out.

Bob Barker.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

My man is going to get the big V. I took care of things for the past 10 years, now its his turn.

Oh HECK no! I've heard of this procedure, but really, no matter how good it is, does the coil have to look like a centipede? Is that necessary?
I vote vasectomy, girl!

What's soooo freaky is that my sister and I were just talking about this today! She has to stop getting the Depo shot and the Dr. mentioned this...she's thinking negatory!

"centipede"

LMAO, well that is, until I have to have it done :(

I have been "fixed" instead of my husband, that was my 40th present. But i suggest HE does it instead of you since you already had your party!!!

I used IUD and got bleeding. I don't want to use hormonal contrs. but I still don't think I need sterilization.

Looking at this picture makes me so very, very glad that I had my tubes tied when I had Thing 2. After looking at that picture, I am not sure I would want to have that done. Is this the 'preferred' way now or they simply won't do the old fashioned cut and tie anymore?
Gross.

Holy Birth Control!!! Make your husband do it!

WheresMyAngels said...

Sinner, it is the preferred method now, but I could choose the other method but it isn't as safe since I am considered obese. Oh why oh why couldn't I have had a C-section with Aysha, then I would of had them tied then!

I laughed so hard when I read the last line...Bob Barker.

I wouldn't want it done, either!

My hubby was so scared to go get neutered. I finally said, Be a man and go get it or no sex for a year! He found a doctor who would knock him totally out and he had in done 4 weeks later.

O.M.G. MAKE HIM DO IT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

Foreign bodies into your body is a good reason for concern. Tell DH that one weekend in his favorite lounge chair with a bag of frozen peas is all he will suffer for doing his fatherly duty. Vasectomies are reversible too... :)

I can't say that I blame you for being nervous. That picture did nothing good for me.

Uh yeah--no springs implanted anywhere in my body...please! I can see why you're having some reservations!

And I loved the birthday pictures! You are one young looking 40 year old. No wonder you have a child husband! :)

That is just painful to look at, but in all fairness, it is less painful to look at than a vasectomy picture would be.

I'd insist on the hubby doing the man thing.

Mrs4444 said...

Tell your husband to quit being selfish and man up! He'll get over it; I have never EVER heard of a man who said, "I wish I hadn't done it," or "It wasn't worth it."

LMAO....Bob Barker. The boys getting neutered is so much easier, why are they such babies? Oh my gosh, still laughing about Bob Barker...
Love what you call your DH. I am so with you.

I have a friend who did this about a year ago - she said "easy peasy" and she's glad she did it!

Good luck!!

yikes - if I hadn't already been under the knife to HAVE kid 5 there is no way hubby could have talked me into ANY procedure at all. A Vasectomy is SO much easier to recover from, not to mention cheaper! ...men will be boys...

Hey! I found my way here through SITS. I so know all about this lovely little procedure. With my last child I wanted my tubes tied and my doctor didn't want to, she wanted me to do this instead. I gave in and made the appointment. They told me it would be "uncomfortable". Ummm...NO. It was so painful before they really even got started that I had to have them stop. Long story short. I'm still not "fixed", but when I do get to it, it will be under heavy anestethics. ;p Good Luck!!!

OK, am I the only one getting menstrual cramps looking at that picture? Could someone pass the Midol?

I had a tubal after the birth of my youngest. I have regretted it every moment of every day since. I realized after the fact that I did not trust God to know what is best for my family.....

Just a thought for you.
